Pus in the throat is mostly seen as inflammation and pus in the tonsils. Pus indicates a serious condition, which is usually difficult to heal on its own and requires active treatment to avoid delaying the condition. Tonsillar suppuration is mainly an acute inflammation of the palatine tonsils, the cause of which is mainly Streptococcus haemolyticus infection type B. The main clinical manifestations are sore throat, earache, high fever, etc., accompanied by various degrees of general discomfort. Examination of the pharynx reveals congestion and enlargement of the bilateral palatine tonsils and yellow-white purulent secretions at the mouth of the crypt. The condition of septic throat is more serious and usually cannot be cured by itself. In severe cases, glucocorticoids may be given as appropriate, along with metronidazole. If the condition does not improve after 2-3 days of treatment, blood tests should be repeated in a timely manner and medication should be administered according to the results of bacterial culture and drug sensitivity. Patients should maintain adequate rest, drink plenty of water, quit smoking and alcohol, and abstain from spicy and stimulating foods.
