Can cholecystitis gallstones cause left chest tightness and chest pain?

Cholecystitis gallstones can cause right sided shoulder or back involving pain, but causing left sided chest tightness and chest pain is clinically uncommon. Cholecystitis and gallstones are very common biliary tract disorders in clinical practice, and many times both are present at the same time. Many patients with gallbladder stones may be asymptomatic for a long time, or they may only present with discomfort or vague pain in the right upper abdomen, which is noticeable when they are full or nervous. When the stone is embedded in the gallbladder duct, it can cause paroxysmal pain in the right upper abdomen, known as biliary colic, which can sometimes be accompanied by radiating pain in the right scapular region or back. Acute cholecystitis symptoms are similar to biliary colic, mainly manifested as paroxysmal colic pain in the right upper abdomen, which can radiate to the right shoulder and back, accompanied by fever, chills and other signs of infection, and a small number of patients can develop mild jaundice. Left-sided chest tightness and chest pain can be seen in angina pectoris, acute myocardial infarction, left-sided pleurisy, left-sided lobar pneumonia, etc., but cholecystitis or gallstones are not common. It is recommended that the patient go to the hospital as soon as possible to find out the cause of the disease and then be treated accordingly.
