Precautions for the use of hormones in myasthenia gravis

Most people still talk about hormones, but it is important to point out that glucocorticoids are still by far the main drug used to treat this disease, with the highest efficiency and cost effectiveness. Which method to use is up to the doctor, and the dosage should be reduced only after the symptoms have completely resolved. Once the specialist recommends the addition of hormones according to the patient’s condition, the patient should pay attention to the following issues: ① More than 50% of systemic patients may have transient symptom exacerbation in the early stage of high-dose hormone application (within 7-10 days), which usually lasts for about 1 week, and severe cases may have critical symptoms. ③ Hormone should be taken once a day in the morning to reduce the impact on endocrine secretion. Therefore, do not reduce the dose without authorization, but under the guidance of a specialist.
