The longest survival period of ureteral cancer varies very much among individuals. If detected very early, clinical cure can be achieved; if detected late, death can usually occur within a year. Ureteral cancer is mostly uroepithelial cancer. Many people are found to have new organisms in the lumen of ureter by ureteroscopy, and ureteral cancer is identified by biopsy of the tissue. In this case, if it is detected very early and the tumor does not infiltrate into the muscular layer, partial uretero-cystectomy can be performed, and the result after surgery is very good and can achieve clinical cure. For intermediate and advanced ureteral cancer, the results are average, with an effective survival of about 50% in 5 years.
