How long can babies take a bath after vaccination

After the vaccination, there will be mild localized skin pain and redness in babies who are sensitive to the vaccine, so it is generally recommended to take a bath after 24-48 hours. It is not allowed to take a bath immediately after the vaccination because the baby’s skin is tender and can easily cause local infection. Therefore, after the vaccination, try to keep the eye area dry, clean and hygienic, do not scratch, pay attention to proper rest and do not exercise strenuously. Generally, you can take a bath after 24 hours after the regular vaccination. However, if the vaccination is a live vaccine such as diphtheria or measles, the bathing time can be extended appropriately, preferably after 48 hours. In addition, care should be taken to keep the water temperature and ambient temperature as constant as possible when bathing to avoid getting cold. In addition, some infants may have fever, rash, redness, swelling, heat and pain at the vaccination site after vaccination, so pay attention to observation and go to the hospital in time for serious cases.
