How long does it take for allergic conjunctivitis to heal?

Allergic conjunctivitis has a relatively long course, with recurring episodes of the disease, which can take about 3-4 weeks to clear up under normal circumstances. Allergic conjunctivitis is an allergic reaction of the eye to surrounding allergic substances, which is characterized by itchy eyes and may be accompanied by foreign body sensation, redness, swelling, dryness, congestion, burning sensation and tearing of the eyes. The best treatment for this disease is to identify the allergen as soon as possible and to avoid contact with it. Until the allergen is identified, it is recommended to apply cold compresses to the eyes early to relieve the dryness and itchiness. A visit to a hospital ophthalmologist is recommended to administer medication under medical supervision to relieve symptoms and minimize the duration of the disease, which is usually 3-4 weeks. Patients with a history of this type of disease are advised to take care of their eyes on a daily basis and to reduce going out in the spring and fall. Patients should avoid using medication on their own to avoid prolonged treatment.
