What is restless leg syndrome?

Restless legs syndrome is a neurological sensorimotor disorder that primarily involves the legs, meaning that patients often experience indescribable discomfort in both lower extremities, resulting in a strong desire to move the legs, often requiring constant movement of the lower extremities or walking in bed to relieve symptoms. The symptoms are often worse at night when resting, and most patients have difficulty falling asleep and wake up frequently. These symptoms can sometimes accumulate in the upper limbs or trunk.
