Precautions after femoral neck fracture surgery

Fractures of the femoral neck often occur in the elderly, mostly in women. The fracture is mainly caused by twisting the injured limb during a fall, and the violence is transmitted to the femoral neck. So do you know the precautions after femoral neck fracture surgery? 1, maintain the position: continuous traction, internal fixation or artificial femoral head replacement after surgery are wearing thong shoes, keep the affected limb abduction neutral position. When changing the position, keep the limb straight and avoid inversion, abduction and hip flexion to prevent fracture displacement. Perform isometric contraction training of the quadriceps muscle and ankle and toe extension and flexion activities during bed rest, and observe whether there are complications such as pressure sores, pneumonic pneumonia and urinary tract infection. 2. Nutrition and diet: Encourage patients to eat more dietary fiber-rich foods, fresh fruits and vegetables, and give a high-protein, highly nutritious and easily digestible diet. 3.Functional exercise: after 8 weeks of traction treatment, the patient can sit up in bed, after 3 months, the patient can walk on the ground without weight with the help of crutches, after 6 months, the patient can gradually abandon the crutches and walk. After 3 weeks of internal fixation treatment, you can sit up and move your hip and knee joint, and after 6 weeks, you can walk on the ground without weight with the help of crutches, and after the fracture heals, you can abandon the crutches. After the artificial femoral head replacement, the hip joint activity should be started in 1 week, and you can walk on the ground without weight after 2-3 weeks with the help of crutches, and abandon the crutches after 3 months. 4. Prevent complications: Femoral neck fracture is bedridden for a long time, and complications such as pressure sores, pneumonia and urinary tract infections can occur, so skin care should be done well, and patients should be helped to turn over regularly; regular back tapping, deep breathing and effective coughing should be guided to promote sputum excretion; patients should be encouraged to drink more water.
