Most commonly seen in children and adolescents. There are no conscious symptoms and occasional pressure pain. They occur on hands, feet and foot edges. They start as pinpoint to pea-sized, semicircular or polygonal papules with a rough, keratinized, papilla-like proliferation, pistil-like or spiny, grayish-yellow, dirty brown or normal skin color. Occasionally, several lesions fuse to form a single patch. The most common types of warts are: (1) periungual warts: they occur on the nail edge, are painful to touch, and are prone to cracking and infection. (2) Filiform warts: These are single, soft, filiform projections on the neck, eyelids, or chin that are normal or brownish gray in color.
