An already present placenta praevia cannot be corrected, but can only be prevented before pregnancy. Prevention of placenta praevia includes prevention of endometritis, reduction of endometrial surgery and endometrial damage, reduction of curettage, reduction of the number of pregnancies and deliveries, reduction of cesarean section rate, keeping the vulva clean and maintaining a healthy reproductive tract.
