What are the manifestations of urinary disorders in paraplegic patients

Due to the abnormal function of urethral sphincter, patients with paraplegia can have urinary disorders, which are manifested as urinary retention and incontinence: 1. Urinary retention: intermittent catheterization is clinically implemented, which is not easily infected, but requires patients and family members to operate by themselves. If the catheterization technique is unskilled, it can lead to breakage of the urethral lining and hematuria and inflammation. TCM uses abdominal massage, regular pressure and massage to promote urine discharge; 2. Urinary incontinence: TCM acupuncture and acupuncture can be used to relieve symptoms and alleviate patients’ pain.
