Are there sequelae of traumatic subarachnoid hemorrhage?

Traumatic subarachnoid hemorrhage may have sequelae including diminished intelligence, aphasia, psychiatric symptoms, limb motor and sensory dysfunction, and epilepsy.
1. Intellectual decompensation. If the damage of brain cells is obvious, the patient will suffer from hypomelanosis, which is manifested as a decrease in memory and calculation power.
2. Aphasia. If the speech center is damaged, aphasia will occur.
3. Mental symptoms. Patients may have mental abnormalities, irritability, anxiety and other symptoms.
4. Limb motor and sensory dysfunction. Some patients may show hemiplegia, hemiplegic sensory dysfunction and so on.
5. Epilepsy. If the amount of bleeding is relatively large, it can cause increased intracranial pressure, brain cell damage, and seizures can occur.
