The spots are distributed in clusters, varying in sparseness, or with central patches and marginal spots. The most common sites of involvement are the periorbital area, frontal area, forehead, zygomatic area, temporal area, and nasal flanks, with unilateral distribution and occasionally bilateral. Mostly Q-switched Nd-YAG 1064nm laser or 755nm emerald laser is used, and 694nm ruby laser can also be used. Usually, 3 to 6 treatments are given every 1 to 3 months, and eventually a complete cure can be obtained. During laser treatment, surface anesthetics are applied locally, which is less painful and generally tolerated. After treatment, there will be varying degrees of skin edema and skin bleeding in the treated area, which usually crusts over and fades in about a week, and usually leaves no marks after fading. For children, they are too young to cooperate well during and after surgery, and need to be treated with general anesthesia.
