Is sneezing in newborns a cold?

Occasional sneezing in newborns is a physiological reflex used to expel foreign bodies such as dust from the nasal cavity, but frequent sneezing is considered a possible cold. Newborns have narrow nasal cavities, so when foreign objects such as dust enter the nasal cavity, they can expel them by sneezing. Sneezing may also occur when the room temperature is too low, when allergens are present, or when the skin is frequently exposed due to frequent diaper changes and body washing, making it easier to catch a cold or have allergies. If a newborn baby has frequent sneezing, runny nose and elevated body temperature, it indicates the possibility of a cold and parents should pay attention to it. Newborn sneezing can be caused by a variety of reasons, whether it is caused by a cold or allergies, parents should not take it lightly and are advised to consult a pediatrician in a timely manner to avoid self-administration of medication.
