What are the risks of uterine fibroids?

Uterine fibroids are benign tumors of the uterus. Fibroids can cause menstrual disorders, excessive menstruation, anemia, pressure on the bladder or intestines, causing frequent urination or constipation. It may also cause pain in the lower abdomen. Infertility and miscarriage: Because fibroids in the horn of the uterus compress the entrance of the fallopian tube, the uterus is deformed to prevent the fertilized egg from being laid, in addition, patients with fibroids often have ovarian dysfunction leading to infertility. Malignancy: fibroids are benign tumors, but there are still a few that cause malignancy, mostly in older patients with large and fast-growing fibroids, especially in patients with rapid growth of fibroids after menopause or in patients with fibroids that appear again after menopause. Acute complications: red degeneration and torsion during pregnancy should be treated promptly.
