Can ultrasound diagnose uterine polyps?

Uterine polyps can mostly be diagnosed by ultrasound, but it is best to opt for a vaginal ultrasound for a clearer diagnosis. Vaginal ultrasound mainly involves placing a probe device inside the vagina. Sound waves are used to create an image of the inside of the uterus, allowing the presence and location of polyps to be visualized. However, vaginal ultrasound can sometimes miss some small polyps. There are many ways to check for uterine polyps, and ultrasound, gynecological examination, hysteroscopy and other methods are usually used to confirm the diagnosis, but hysteroscopy is the most intuitive and the best way to check for uterine polyps. To determine whether you have uterine polyps, it is recommended that you choose the appropriate examination program after your doctor’s visit.
