Exercise
Some people often get cramps and mistake them for calcium deficiency, and then give themselves calcium supplements from time to time. The fact that you don’t want to find out the situation, you just want to take calcium supplements, which is not too safe, after all, there are many reasons for cramps, not necessarily a lack of calcium, and too much calcium is not beneficial to the body.
Reasons for cramps: cold stimulation
Such as winter exercise in the cold environment. Inadequate preparation activities, swimming in the summer, the water temperature is low, are prone to cause leg cramps. If you don’t sleep well at night, your calf muscles will be stimulated by the cold and you will wake up in pain with cramps.
Causes of cramps: excessive sweating
Exercise for a long time. Exercise a lot, sweat a lot, and do not replenish salt in time. Large loss of fluids and electrolytes in the body. Metabolic waste builds up. Poor local blood circulation in the muscles, which is also prone to cramps.
Causes of cramps: excessive fatigue
The calf muscles are most prone to fatigue when traveling long distances and ascending to heights. Because each ascent is a foot to support the weight of the whole body, the force required for the muscles of this leg to lift the foot will be six times the weight of the person, and when it fatigues to a certain extent, cramps will occur.
Causes of cramps: continuous muscle contraction too fast
During strenuous exercise. The whole body is under tension and the leg muscles contract too quickly. The relaxation time is too short, the local metabolites lactic acid increases, the muscle contraction and relaxation is difficult to coordinate, thus causing calf muscle cramps.
Reasons for cramps: bad sleep position
If you lie on your back for a long time, so that the quilt is pressed against your feet, or lie prone for a long time, so that your feet are on the bed, forcing some muscles in your calves to be in absolute relaxation for a long time, causing muscle “passive contracture”.
Causes of cramps: calcium deficiency
In the process of muscle contraction, calcium ions play an important role. When the concentration of calcium ions in the blood is too low, the muscles are easily excited and cramped.
Strong and healthy body
However, no matter which of the above causes of cramps, we need to relieve the pain of cramps as soon as possible, and the following is a list of relief methods for different parts of the body.
Fingers
Make a fist and then open it with force. Repeat this action until you recover.
Palm
With the other hand, squeeze the upper part of the fingers and bend them backwards with a little force, then release them and repeat the action until they recover.
Calf
Sit on the floor with one leg bent and the knee close to the chest, the other leg straight, tilt the body forward, hold the toes with both hands and stretch backwards. 10 seconds or so.
