Is it possible for a scaphoid fracture to heal on its own?

The scapula is protected by muscles all around and there is usually no significant fracture displacement.
In patients with little fracture displacement, the fracture has the potential to heal itself and usually only requires suspension braking of the affected upper limb, allowing early functional exercise, but severe fractures require specialist treatment, even surgical incision and internal fixation with instruments. Therefore, a scaphoid fracture should be seen promptly and treated appropriately according to the doctor’s recommendations.
