How can attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) be treated?

Psychotherapy combined with medication is currently the main treatment.
Children aged 4 to 5 years with preschool ADHD are treated mainly with behavioural therapy, and medication is considered if behavioural therapy is not effective.
Children aged 6 to 11 years with school-age ADHD are recommended to be treated with medication first, and a combination of medication and behavioural therapy is recommended
Adolescents with ADHD aged 12 to 18 years are recommended to have medication as the first choice, supplemented by psychotherapy.
At the same time, individualised treatment plans are developed according to the patient’s personal circumstances, with the active cooperation of parents and teachers at home and school respectively.
