How radiation therapy is administered

The implementation process of modern radiation therapy is performed by a group of highly trained professionals, including physicians specializing in radiation oncology, physicists specializing in radiation oncology, and technologists specializing in radiation therapy. The implementation process of treatment plan includes the following steps: 1. all routine examinations and preparations before treatment (2~5 working days); 2. body position fixation aids production (15~30 minutes); 3. tumor localization and irradiation field design: 4. conventional 2D simulator localization and plan design (1~2 hours), such patients can start radiotherapy after completing plan design and dose calculation; 5. CT simulator Positioning (30~40 minutes); 6.3D conformal radiotherapy treatment plan or intensity modulated radiotherapy treatment plan design (1~3 working days). 7.Treatment plan center reset and field verification (1 working day). After the above process is completed and the doctor confirms that the radiation treatment plan meets the requirements, radiotherapy can be started. Depending on the purpose of radiotherapy, it usually takes 3~7 weeks, with irradiation from Monday to Friday and rest on Saturday and Sunday.
