Hypothyroidism is a group of diseases caused by relative or absolute deficiency of thyroid hormones. Most types of hypothyroidism are related to autoimmune factors and have little to do with diet, but proper adjustment of diet still has a role in the recovery of hypothyroidism. The dietary adjustment for hypothyroidism is as follows: suitable food: for hypothyroidism caused by iodine deficiency, moderate amount of iodine-containing food should be used, such as kelp, nori, iodized salt, iodized soy sauce, iodized eggs and bread for iodization. However, it is important to note that iodized salt should not be put into boiling oil to prevent iodine from volatilizing and reducing iodine concentration. For protein supplementation, eggs, dairy, meat and fish can be used; for vegetable protein, various soy products and soybeans can be used. The supply of animal liver can correct anemia, and also ensure the supply of various vegetables and fresh fruits. Although dietary adjustment can help in the treatment of hypothyroidism, it can only be used as an aid to the regular treatment, and one should not put all hopes on the dietary treatment.
