Differential diagnosis of square shoulder deformity

This deformity can be seen in shoulder dislocation, where the humeral head slips out of the scapular glenoid fossa, the shoulder loses its rounded contour, the peak of the shoulder protrudes and presents a square shoulder deformity, and a hollow feeling can be felt at the scapular glenoid. In the early stage of square shoulder deformity, there is a vague localized pain, which is relieved at rest and aggravated by exertion, usually without radiating pain. The pain increases when it changes from simple bone tuberculosis to total joint tuberculosis. It seriously affects the quality of life of patients.       In order to judge square shoulder deformity well, it is often diagnosed clinically differently from the following two conditions: 1. Protruding scapula: In people with thin body, the scapula protrudes and looks very unattractive. The so-called winged protrusion of the scapula refers to the scapula behind both sides, due to muscle stability or nerve damage, resulting in a natural state, or arm doing certain movements can see obvious protrusion of the condition. 2.Shoulder condensation: Computerized shoulder is referred to as frozen shoulder (now less commonly used), commonly known as frozenshoulder. It is a chronic inflammatory injury of the periapical muscles, tendons, bursa and joint capsule. It is characterized by pain and functional limitation during activities due to hyperplasia, roughness and intra- and extra-articular adhesions.
