The treatment drugs for gout are decided according to the condition. Acute-phase drugs include colchicine, steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as etoricoxib, and glucocorticoids such as prednisone; intermittent-phase drugs include drugs inhibiting uric acid synthesis such as febuxostat, and drugs promoting uric acid excretion such as probenecid, etc. The appropriate drugs should be chosen according to the patient’s condition. 1. Acute phase medication: some non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can be used during the acute attack, such as etoricoxib, diclofenac, or small doses of colchicine; glucocorticosteroids, such as prednisone and dexamethasone, can be used for patients with severe clinical symptoms. 2. Intermittent medication: gout is associated with abnormal uric acid metabolism, some drugs can be used to inhibit uric acid synthesis, such as febuxostat, allopurinol; also can be used to promote uric acid excretion of drugs, such as probenecid, phenylbromarone and so on. It is recommended that gout patients use medication under the guidance of a doctor, do not self-medication, so as not to affect the recovery of the disease.
