Is the leg ruined if the meniscus is damaged?

Meniscal injuries do not result in loss of leg function. Mild meniscal injuries are generally injuries caused by degeneration of the knee joint. These injuries are relatively mild and the prognosis is that knee motion will not be too limited and regular sports can be performed. After conservative treatment of this condition, it generally has less impact on the leg. Severe meniscal injuries, such as meniscal tears, can be disabling and can affect normal knee flexion and extension activities in the short term, and can return most of the leg to normal function after arthroscopic surgery is required. In addition, the late rehabilitation of meniscal injuries is more important and requires functional leg exercises under the guidance of a physician. The recovery period should also avoid strenuous exercise and a balanced diet to promote the recovery of the injury.
