How long can I keep my fillings?

Patients often ask, “How long can I get a filling? As a doctor, I would love to say “for life”, but that’s not realistic, why? For example, can a repaired tire last as long as an undamaged tire? The same goes for a repaired tooth. Teeth in the oral environment, to eat, force, will face bacteria, force, acid corrosion and other damage, repair teeth than the risk of good teeth bad. One part repair, nine parts care. What the doctor can guarantee to the patient is strict control, accurate diagnosis and delicate operation. The patient himself plays a more important role, to avoid bad habits under the guidance of the doctor (such as not leaving the mouth with sweets, biting hard and tough things, chewing on the side, grinding teeth at night, etc.), and to develop good oral hygiene habits (correct brushing method, using dental floss or toothbrush, regular oral examination, regular cleaning), so as to reduce the risk of filling falling off, tooth fracture and recurrence of tooth decay. I hope my suggestions can help you.
