Cervical Bishop score method

The Bishop score of the cervix is a criterion to determine the maturity of the cervix and to assess the success rate of the trial of labor in terms of the degree of opening of the uterine orifice, the degree of receding cervical canal, the position of the first trimester, the hardness of the cervix, and the position of the uterine orifice. 1. The degree of regression of the cervical canal: 0-30% is 0 points, 40%-50% is 1 point, 60%-70% is 2 points, ≥80% is 3 points; 3, the position of the fetal previa: the relationship between the fetal head and the level of the sciatic spine, 3cm on the sciatic spine is 0 points, 2cm on the sciatic spine is 1 point, 1cm on the sciatic spine to the level of the spine is 2 points, 1-2cm under the spine is 3 points; 4, the hardness of the cervix: the hardness of the cervix is 0 points The cervical texture of the uterus is 1 point, and the softness of the uterus is 2 points; 5. Position of the uterine orifice: 0 points for backward facing, 1 point for centering, and 2 points for forward facing. The success rate of the trial of labor was assessed with a score out of 13; if >9 points indicated a successful vaginal trial of labor; 7-9 points would indicate an 80% success rate of the trial of labor; if 4-6 points, a 50% success rate; and if ≤3 points, a failed vaginal trial of labor. The Bishop score of the cervix is mainly used to assess the maturity of the cervix, and if the cervix is immature, then cervical maturation needs to be promoted to induce labor. If the cervix is mature, then contractions can be used to induce labor and the success rate of induction is higher.
