If the patient only has symptoms of dry and itchy throat without sore throat and difficulty in swallowing, he/she can be observed first without seeking medical attention.
If symptoms of dry and itchy throat, sore throat, foreign body sensation and dry cough occur for half a month or more, or are accompanied by difficulty in swallowing, fever, difficulty in breathing, haemoptysis and swollen lymph nodes, then prompt medical attention is required.
