Pigmented nevus is a benign tumor composed of melanin-containing nevus cells, which is commonly found on the skin surface and varies in shape and size. There are three types of nevi: junctional nevi (nevus nests between epidermis and dermis), intradermal nevi (nevus nests in the dermis) and mixed nevi (nevus nests in the range of junctional nevi and intradermal nevi), among which junctional nevi and mixed nevi have the possibility of malignant transformation. Most of these moles are benign, but very few of them can become malignant melanoma. Special attention should be paid to moles in general when they change in appearance and texture (e.g. sudden growth, erosion, oozing, bleeding, etc.). Non-surgical treatment is suitable for small granular moles occurring on the face and neck. The application of modern new technology, laser, provides a good way to remove moles without traces. For larger and deeper pigmented moles, surgery with pathological diagnosis is the best treatment option.
