How many days should be the latest for double eyelid stitches to be removed?

Double eyelid stitch removal time depends on individual circumstances. For most patients, stitches can be removed 5-7 days after surgery, and it is not recommended to remove stitches after more than 10 days. There are various methods of double eyelid surgery, of which the incision method and the suture method require stitch removal. The general suture removal time for double eyelid surgery needs to be determined by the growth of the skin after the surgical suture. Some people have thicker eyelid skin, while some individuals have thinner eyelids. If the skin is growing quickly and there is no obvious stitch reaction, the stitches can be removed in about 5 days of skin healing. If skin growth is slower, the stitches can be removed slightly longer. In most people, the stitches can be removed about 1 week after surgery, but in some special cases, such as diabetes, which affects the healing of the incision, the stitches need to be removed for a longer period of time, about 10 days, after controlling the blood sugar. The stitches should not be removed too late to avoid leaving traces on the skin and affecting the beauty of the eyes. In addition, after double eyelid surgery, we need to pay attention to keep the surgical area clean, take medication as prescribed by the doctor, review regularly, avoid strenuous activities after surgery, avoid excessive eye use for a long time, and have a light diet.
