Double eyelid surgery, also known as blepharoplasty, recovery time is related to the surgical method, e.g., buried eyelids usually recover in 3-5 days; Korean three-point minimally invasive surgery has an initial recovery in 1-2 weeks; and full incision eyelids begin to form a scar in about 2-3 weeks after the surgery, with a gradual recovery only after 3-6 months. There are more types of double eyelid surgery for different patients. Younger patients with tighter skin can be operated by the buried thread method or minimally invasive small incision method, which has a shorter recovery process and less traumatic surface, and the swelling can be basically reduced in about 1-2 weeks. In contrast, full incision surgery is more traumatic and has a longer recovery period, taking 3-6 months to achieve a particularly natural state. In addition, your own postoperative care will have a greater impact on recovery time. For example, ice packs and a head-high-feet-low position can shorten the recovery period for swelling to some extent. It is recommended that blepharoplasty patients keep the surgical site clean, apply ice immediately after surgery, keep the affected area dry, avoid contact with water or dirty objects until the stitches are removed, and eat a light diet, avoiding spicy and irritating foods.
