Diseases caused by streptococci invading the body are called streptococcal infections. Generally there are two categories, one is infectious diseases, such as acute tonsillitis, skin impetigo, pneumonia and so on. The other category is called allergic diseases, such as acute glomerulonephritis, etc. Streptococcal infections are a common cause and can occur throughout the year, mainly based on the prevalence of streptococcal infections and patient contact history, as well as the characteristic clinical manifestations to confirm the diagnosis. For some infections, bacterial culture of secretions and blood from the infected area is required to confirm the diagnosis. For patients with streptococcal infections, rest should be given during the acute period, easily digestible food should be given, symptomatic treatment such as infusion should be given if necessary, and most importantly, adequate amount of antibacterial drugs should be given immediately. For those who are allergic to penicillin, other drugs can be used instead. For patients with neonatal meningitis, high doses of penicillin or ampicillin are more effective, and the course of antibacterial therapy is usually noted for about ten days.
