If a mole appears on the eyelid of the eye and away from the lid margin, it can be removed by laser. If a nevus appears on the eyeball or near the eyelid margin, it is generally not recommended to spot it, and surgical removal is required.
Moles that are far from the eyeball will not harm the eye when treated with a laser.
If the nevus is close to the eyeball, or directly located in the eyeball, if laser treatment is carried out, it may cause light damage to the retina or even the macula of the eye, resulting in loss of vision, distortion of vision, and so on. Therefore, when laser treatment is performed, the location of the eyeball needs to be avoided as much as possible. Surgical removal may be required depending on the circumstances.
When a patient has a nevus in the eye, consult a doctor as needed and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
