Established in 2011, the Department of Vascular Surgery of General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University is the only independently established vascular surgery department in the region, integrating clinical, teaching and scientific research. The department is based on the treatment of common and multiple diseases of blood vessels and has 71 beds. There are 35 medical and nursing staffs with an average age of 35 years old. There are 2 persons with senior title, 1 person with associate title, 2 persons with intermediate title and 3 persons with junior title. There are 1 master’s degree supervisor and 5 doctoral and master’s degree students. Department in the construction based on a high starting point, high standards, high level, department development adhere to the patient-centered, quality as the core, establish brand awareness, medical ethics, medical quality, medical safety, patient satisfaction as the focus of comprehensive target management, adhere to the social benefits in the first place. At the beginning of the hospital, Ningxia Medical University General Hospital invested more than 10 million yuan for vascular surgery to purchase equipment to build the first compound laminar flow operating room in the region for the treatment of vascular surgery diseases, which has achieved leapfrog development of vascular surgery. Now, more than 1000 inpatients are admitted annually, and more than 500 open and interventional vascular surgery procedures are completed. The clinical treatment work is close to the national advanced level. The Department of Vascular Surgery undertakes the task of undergraduate teaching in Ningxia Medical University and has won many awards in the teaching competition of Ningxia Medical University, and is a master’s degree granting site for vascular surgery in surgery. It undertakes science and technology support program projects in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and applied research and development program projects in Yinchuan City. At the same time, we have conducted extensive study and exchange with many first-class vascular surgery centers in China, planned to build a talent echelon, sent staff to attend training and study in batches and times, and tried to make the business and treatment level of the department in line with the first-class hospitals in China. Our goal is to build a special specialty in the northwest region with medical, teaching and research integration that radiates around and even across the country, and to provide the most standardized and optimized treatment for patients with vascular diseases in Ningxia and surrounding areas.
