A routine urine protein (+-) in pregnant women is a suspicious positive or weakly positive urine protein and is recommended to be rechecked. Normally, a negative urine protein in a urine test means that no protein is found in the urine, and a “-” is commonly used on the report card to indicate this. Pathological proteinuria: If a pregnant woman suffers from nephritis, nephrosis, pyelonephritis, etc., the results will be positive. If a pregnant woman suffers from kidney disease such as nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, pyelonephritis, or other diseases such as diabetes and hypertension, they may affect the kidney function of the human body, which may lead to suspicious positive or weak positive urine protein. In summary, pregnancy is in a special state for women, and if a pregnant woman finds protein (+-) in her urine test, it may be normal or caused by a disease, which needs to be further evaluated after a reexamination. If the result of the review is negative, there is no need to worry too much and continue regular maternity checkups afterwards, but if the result of the review is still positive, further relevant tests are needed.
