What is the cause of sweating in the head at night

Sweating of the head at night, also known as night sweats, is mostly considered to be caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection, such as tuberculous meningitis, pulmonary tuberculosis, and tuberculous pleurisy, and patients with different diseases may have corresponding signs and symptoms at the same time. Patients with tuberculous meningitis may present with headache, nausea, vomiting, manifesting as signs of meningeal irritation, which can be cervical ankylosis, positive Kernig’s sign and positive Bruschitzin’s sign, as well as some physical symptoms, including limb weakness, sensory disturbances, and in severe cases, impaired consciousness, which may cause high cranial pressure. If tuberculosis is considered, the main manifestations are low-grade fever, cough and sputum, which may even cause respiratory failure and lead to the patient’s death. If tuberculous pleurisy is considered, it usually manifests as chest pain during inspiration and may also present with symptoms such as fever and night sweats, etc. Blood sedimentation checks may help in the diagnosis if necessary.
