For toothache caused by infection, it is possible to take anti-inflammatory drugs. It is true that most clinical toothaches are caused by infectious factors. The more common ones are pulpitis and periapical inflammation caused by bacterial infection of the hard tissues of the teeth, and periapical inflammation caused by bacterial infection of the periodontal tissues of the wisdom teeth, both of which are caused by infectious factors. From this perspective, the symptomatic application of anti-inflammatory drugs is effective, but in actual clinical work, it is recommended that patients should seek timely medical attention and go to a professional dentistry department for treatment of the causes of these diseases. For pulpitis and periapical inflammation, pulp drainage and root canal treatment can be performed, while for wisdom tooth periapical inflammation, wisdom teeth can be directly extracted during the period when they are not painful, which is the fundamental solution to cure this kind of toothache. The use of anti-inflammatory drugs is not a cure for the root cause of toothache.
