How to tell the difference between a fungal infection and a bacterial infection of the glans.

Fungal and bacterial infections of glans can be distinguished from clinical symptoms, laboratory tests.
1.Clinical symptoms:
(1) Generally fungal infectious glans, there will be more white cheese-like secretion in the coronal groove or glans surface, and the secretion is more like tofu dregs. Patients will have obvious erythema on the surface of the glans, with a smooth surface and clearer borders.
(2) In bacterial inflammation, the penile skin is red and swollen, and there is a burning and itching sensation on the head of the penis. The inner surface of the foreskin and glans are congested and eroded, with oozing and even bleeding.
2. Laboratory examination:
The use of glans secretion smear or bacterial culture is the gold standard for distinguishing between fungal and bacterial glansitis, and the results of bacterial culture are used to distinguish between bacteria and fungi.
When glans inflammation occurs, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time, follow the doctor’s instructions for further examination, clarify the causative bacteria with the help of the doctor, and carry out targeted treatment or therapy.
