Prevention and treatment of lower extremity arterial ischemia

As the temperature decreases, the number of patients with lower limb arterial ischemia gradually increases. Lower extremity arterial ischemia mainly manifests as coldness and numbness in the lower extremities, pain in the lower extremities after walking a certain distance, and the need to rest for a certain period of time before continuing to walk (commonly known as intermittent claudication). If patients with lower limb arterial ischemia are not treated effectively, ulcer formation and blackened necrosis of the lower limb may occur at a later stage, leading to amputation. Lower extremity arterial ischemia is generally divided into acute ischemia and chronic ischemia. Clinical manifestations and treatment: 1. Acute arterial embolism: Most of the patients with acute arterial embolism have a history of atrial fibrillation, sudden onset of limb coldness, numbness, pain, pale complexion, and distal arterial pulsation that cannot be palpated. If acute arterial embolism occurs, prompt treatment is required. The most effective treatment at present is arterial embolization, followed by arterial cannulation thrombolysis and Chinese medicine to activate blood circulation and remove blood stasis. 2, lower extremity atherosclerosis occlusive disease: due to the current high prevalence of hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes and other diseases, the number of patients with lower extremity atherosclerosis occlusive disease is gradually increasing. The early stage of lower limb atherosclerosis occlusive disease mainly manifests as coldness and numbness of the lower limbs, pale complexion, intermittent claudication, late pain at night is obvious, and there are lower limb ulcer formation, therefore, at different stages of the disease, we take different treatment methods. In the early stage, oral vasodilator drugs and herbal medicine to activate blood circulation and remove blood stasis are used for treatment. When there is arterial stenosis or occlusion, we carry out arterial bypass surgery and intracavitary interventional techniques. In the later stage of the disease, when there is complete occlusion of the artery, we promote the establishment of collateral circulation through autologous bone marrow stem cell transplantation on the basis of combined Chinese and Western medicine treatment. 3.Arteriosclerosis occlusive disease with thrombosis: Patients with arteriosclerosis occlusive disease may have acute thrombosis, which is manifested as sudden onset of coldness, numbness, pain and pale skin color in the limbs. For this kind of disease, through the judgment of vascular imaging, we have achieved better results by arterial catheterization for thrombosis + catheter thrombolysis and later treatment with traditional Chinese medicine to activate blood circulation and remove blood stasis. 4, thrombo-occlusive vasculitis: thrombo-occlusive vasculitis occurs at a lower age than atherosclerotic occlusive disease, mainly related to the cold climate and smoking, therefore, patients with thrombo-occlusive vasculitis must quit smoking. The current development of tiny balloons makes it possible to perform endoluminal treatment for patients with vasculitis. 5, diabetic foot: diabetes often causes microvascular and neuropathy and ulcer formation, Chinese medicine treatment and the hospital’s homemade Chinese medicine in the treatment of diabetic foot has a unique efficacy. Chinese medicine characteristic treatment: We give full play to the characteristics of Chinese medicine while treating western medicine, and use Chinese medicine Tao Hong Si Wu Tang to treat arterial ischemic diseases of the lower extremities with remarkable efficacy; Chinese patent medicine Pulse Lo Ning needle and Tong Cai Pulse Tablet have definite and reliable efficacy; homemade Chinese medicine Sore Spirit Liquid, Huang Lian Oil Sabu, Kulan and Dermatitis Lotion have definite effect in the treatment of lower extremity ulcers and eczema; we also have distinctive Chinese medicine for the treatment of difficult surgical diseases such as bedsores, sinus tracts and osteomyelitis. There are also distinctive TCM features in the treatment of difficult surgical conditions such as bedsores, sinus tracts, osteomyelitis, etc. Self-protection: If arterial ischemia of the lower extremities occurs, self-protection should also be carried out. 1. Do not apply heat or cold to the lower limbs, and take a warm bath to avoid aggravating ischemia. 2, moderate exercise of the lower limbs can promote the establishment of collateral circulation, but not excessive, so as not to aggravate ischemia. 3.If acute ischemia of lower limb arteries occurs, timely treatment is required. 4.Avoid spicy diet and prohibit smoking and alcohol.
