How to treat mycoplasma infection

When mycoplasma infection is diagnosed in the urinary tract, it is treated with azithromycin and other types of macrolide antibiotics such as roxithromycin or doxycycline. The infection is mostly caused by unclean sexual contact. After infection, there will be frequent urination, urgent urination, painful urination, burning and itching in the urethra, and it may be accompanied by increased discharge from the urethra, which may appear as a sticky yellowish or white discharge. A culture test of the discharge or a urine culture test is needed to further confirm the diagnosis. After the diagnosis is confirmed, the treatment cycle should be at least one week until the patient’s symptoms completely disappear and the urine or discharge is completely negative before the drug can be stopped. If the patient has a sexual partner, both partners need to be treated together.
