Is it dangerous to have jaundice in pancreatic head cancer?

If jaundice occurs in pancreatic head cancer, it is more dangerous. If jaundice is not relieved, more and more bilirubin will be collected in the body, which will cause yellow sclera and skin staining, and too much bilirubin will enter the brain and may cause hepatic encephalopathy and even liver coma leading to death. Therefore, if jaundice develops, it should be relieved as soon as possible, including the placement of a stent in the bile duct or external bile drainage by hepatic puncture. Only after the jaundice has subsided and the bilirubin level has been lowered, anti-tumor treatments such as radiotherapy and chemotherapy can be considered. At present, general radiotherapy and chemotherapy are not very effective in the treatment of pancreatic cancer, so if there is a suitable clinical trial in a hospital with the condition, it can be preferred to participate in the clinical trial.
