What should I do if I can’t see the fetus in a good position during the NT test?

Poor fetal position during NT examination may affect the examination results. In this case, measures such as eating, appropriate activities and listening to music can be taken to promote fetal position change to cooperate with the examination. When the NT examination is interfered by the fetal position, it is necessary to change the fetal position and stimulate the fetal activity, such as lightly stroking the abdomen, or appropriate activity for 20-30 minutes to increase the fetal excitability and promote the fetal activity; or apply rhythmic music for sound stimulation, and also appropriate food, such as chocolate and fruit, which can produce obvious stimulation to the fetus and make the fetus change from resting state to active state. The fetus can be stimulated from resting state to active state. The fetus can also be placed in the left lateral position during the examination, which is also conducive to the change of fetal position. The fetus is kept in the natural extension position, so that the face and neck can be observed, and abnormalities in development can be detected and treated early. In general, if the fetal position cannot cooperate with the examination after 3 times in 1 day, the pregnant woman can have another examination every other day, usually at 11-13 weeks of pregnancy. If the fetus has serious abnormal development or chromosomal disorders with poor prognosis, timely termination of pregnancy should be discussed with both spouses.
