What is the normal NT fetal heart rate?

NT refers to posterior nuchal translucency scan, which measures the thickness of the posterior nuchal translucency band by ultrasound and is used for Down syndrome screening in early pregnancy, usually between 11 and 14 weeks of gestation. Since NT test is essentially an ultrasound, it can also detect fetal heartbeat, which can help to understand the reserve capacity of the fetus and the status of the fetus in the uterus, as well as detect fetal hypoxia and make early diagnosis of fetal distress. Fetal heart rate abnormalities: 1. Fetal heart rate over 160 beats/min: Some women found that the fetal heart rate is faster than 160-170 beats/min during NT examination, which does not mean that there is a problem with the fetus, but there are individual differences and the fetal heart needs to be monitored again; 2. Fetal heart rate below 110 beats/min: Consider whether there is fetal intrauterine hypoxia, which is caused by insufficient maternal blood oxygen. The causes include insufficient maternal blood oxygen, obstruction of blood oxygen transport and exchange between mother and fetus, and fetal disease factors. The NT is a translucent protein that surrounds the back of the fetal neck and is considered to be one of the most effective indicators of Down’s syndrome, measured by ultrasound imaging. A final measurement of less than 3 mm is considered normal, and further tests, such as amniocentesis, should be considered if it exceeds 3 mm. According to the statistics, the NT test combined with blood tests can detect Down syndrome at a rate of more than 85%. The thicker the thickness, the more obvious the Down’s syndrome defect is, indicating chromosomal disorders, heart malformation and other structural malformations in the fetus. The fetal heart can usually be seen at 5-7 weeks, and at the latest at no later than 8 weeks, but the early and late appearance of the fetal heart varies depending on the thickness of the maternal abdominal wall and whether the uterus is anteriorly inclined or anteriorly driven.
