Moisturizer is ruining your face

Washing your face, applying make-up and moisturizer is a daily “task” for almost every beauty-loving woman. About 80% of women repeat these three steps twice a day. However, a survey conducted by French skin care brand Skin Care revealed that despite all the effort, 70% of women still think their skin is dry and sensitive, and more than 40% of adult women are troubled by acne and blemishes. Many cosmetic dermatologists believe that this may be related to moisturizer. The British “Daily Mail” on the 10th quoted dermatologist Rachel Eckel reported that about 15% of people are born with dry skin and large pores, and these people really need moisturizer. But the rest of the people don’t use it at all. Moisturizers contain emollients, such as mineral or vegetable oils, that stop water from evaporating from the skin’s surface. In addition, the moisturizers in them “extract” water from the deeper layers of the skin to the surface, leaving the skin feeling moisturized and relieving itchiness and tightness. But this makes the skin “lazy” and weakens its ability to hydrate itself. In other words, the more moisturizer we put on, the more we need moisturizer. Eckel says that after the age of 25, skin renewal slows down, dead skin deposits and looks rough and shiny. Women often think this is caused by dryness and need to moisturize, when what they really need is exfoliation.
