What is osteochondrosis of the femoral head?

  What is osteochondrosis of the femoral head?  This disease is ischemic necrosis of the femoral head epiphysis, also known as LeggCCalvé-Perthes disease and flat hip. The ossification center of the femoral epiphysis appears after the age of 1 year, and the ossification fuses at the age of 18 to 19 years.
The ossification fuses at the age of 18 to 19 years. It has a higher incidence of osteochondrosis and is more disabling in the whole body. Ischemic necrosis of the femoral head in adults due to various causes is not included in the scope of this disease.  What are the clinical manifestations of osteochondrosis of the femoral head?  1. The disease is most common in children aged 3 to 10 years old, with a male to female ratio of about 6:1, with more unilateral onset; 2. Pain in the hip, gradually increasing. A small number of patients can be affected limb above the knee involvement pain as the first complaint, at this time should pay attention to the ipsilateral hip joint examination. Limping occurs with the increase of pain. The degree of pain and claudication is significantly related to mobility; 3. Examination: claudication, muscle atrophy of the affected limb and spasm of the adductor muscle. The affected limb is slightly shorter than the healthy side in the late stage. The affected hip is more restricted in abduction, posterior extension and internal rotation.
