Schizophrenia is completely different from multiple personalities, as schizophrenia and multiple personalities belong to different types of disorders. Schizophrenia is a severe mental disorder in which the patient usually exhibits a split in emotional and thinking activity, usually with incongruent behavior and thought content, such as hallucinations, delusions, and even bizarre behavior such as laughing and talking to oneself for no apparent reason. Multiple personality usually refers to a severe personality disorder in which patients with multiple personalities may shift between multiple personalities unconsciously, but they do not experience psychotic symptoms such as hallucinations and delusions. In contrast to patients with multiple personalities, patients with schizophrenia can have their symptoms clinically relieved or even return to their pre-morbid normal state after systematic and professional antipsychotic treatment. However, in the case of multiple personality patients, treatment is relatively difficult and patients may not receive better treatment results, and most patients will remain in their original state.
