Prof. Huang believes that in patients with reduced ovarian reserve, ovarian age and egg quality are more reflective of fertility; women should be informed of age-related infertility, which significantly decreases from age 30; women over 35 should be treated at a fertility facility after 6 months of trying to conceive; ovarian reserve function tests are helpful for pre-treatment counseling for ART. Prof. Huang emphasized that ovarian age and reserve function are the most important indicators to evaluate fertility; ART is recommended for patients older than 30 years of age with unexplained infertility or older than 5 years of age; ART is recommended directly for patients older than 40 years of age, while ART should be strictly performed for those older than 45 years of age; age + AFC + AMH is the most practical clinical tool to determine fertility. Treatment strategies for advanced age: first, aggressive implementation of ATR with pretreatment with DHEA, GH, and antioxidant-coenzyme Q10; second, reproductive engineering techniques such as reconstituted eggs and mitochondrial transplantation.
