How long does tinnitus from a cold usually last?

Changes in pressure in the ear caused by pathogenic bacterial infection after a cold cause the uncomfortable symptoms of tinnitus and dizziness, which usually return to normal in about 1 week. When tinnitus occurs after a cold, patients should first improve their cold symptoms by drinking more water, eating foods with high protein, high vitamin and low fat, such as lean meat and fresh fish, and avoiding spicy, greasy and cold seafood. Usually, tinnitus can be gradually relieved after the cold symptoms improve in about 1 week. If tinnitus symptoms are more serious, patients are advised to go to the otorhinolaryngology department of the hospital for routine examination to exclude tinnitus caused by other ear diseases so as not to delay the patient’s condition. In addition, it is recommended that patients should pay attention to rest, avoid straining and staying up all night, do proper exercises, strengthen their immunity and avoid catching cold.
