How to read the value of the fetal heart monitor

The fetal heart monitor looks at the values of three main items: fetal heart rate, fetal movement count and uterine cavity pressure. The doctor will observe the values and fluctuations of two curves to derive the indicators of specific items: one is the fetal heart rate curve, which indicates the value of fetal heart rate per minute; the other is the uterine pressure waveform curve, which indicates the number of contractions. The fetal heart rate should fluctuate between 110 and 160 beats/min. If the fetal heart rate stays below 110 beats/min or greater than 160 beats/min for more than 10 minutes, it indicates bradycardia or tachycardia. 2. The fetal heart rate baseline appears small bulge, usually the fetal movement count is 3-5 times / hour, or 30-40 times / 12 hours, indicating that the fetus is active, if the fetal movement is too little or too much, indicating abnormal acceleration; 3, the uterine cavity pressure: mainly monitor the degree and number of uterine cavity pressure increase, usually after the increase to remain at 20 mm Hg less than 5 times / 10 minutes, if more than the value, indicating the emergence of contractions, full-term pregnant women may be about to deliver. If the value is exceeded, it indicates the presence of contractions, full-term pregnant women may be in labor, and pregnant women who have not reached their due date need to be further evaluated to see if they need to receive fetal preservation treatment. During prenatal checkups, regular fetal heart monitoring should be done from 32-36 weeks of pregnancy for about 20 minutes to check the intrauterine status of the fetus, and daily attention should be paid to the number of fetal movements so that any abnormalities can be detected and intervened early to avoid endangering the health of the pregnant woman and the fetus.
