A 30 year old with high blood pressure should be retested. If it is still high, then it is hypertension and can be treated with lifestyle improvements or medication; if it is normal, then no treatment is needed.
The diagnosis of hypertension requires that the blood pressure be above normal on 3 occasions on different days. High blood pressure at 30 years old may be caused by hypertension or only by fluctuations in blood pressure, so the blood pressure should be retested twice on different days.
If the retests are still high, hypertension is diagnosed. Therapeutic lifestyle interventions are usually needed, including weight loss, reduction of sodium intake, cessation of smoking and alcohol intake, increased exercise, etc. Antihypertensive medications such as hydrochlorothiazide and propranolol are needed if necessary.
If the retested blood pressure is normal, the high blood pressure may be caused by fluctuation of blood pressure, which does not require special treatment, but only regular blood pressure testing.
Hypertension is related to stress, diet, smoking, heredity, weight, etc. It is recommended to check your blood pressure regularly regardless of your age, and if your blood pressure is still high after retesting, you should consult a doctor in time.
