Normal baby tears a few months

Normal infants usually show symptoms of tearing after 3 to 12 weeks of excessive crying, but there are certain babies who take longer, possibly even several months. Newborn babies, due to incomplete development of the lacrimal gland, secrete less tears, especially lacking emotional tears, which may be related to the fact that the structure and function of the nervous system are not yet well developed. Therefore the further development of the structure and function of the lacrimal gland depends on the development of the nervous system. The absence of tears when crying may be due to dehydration due to insufficient water intake in the body. This is usually accompanied by other symptoms, such as dry lips and reduced urination. In some special cases, a baby crying without tears may have a blocked lacrimal gland that prevents tears from flowing out, which may result in a yellow discharge. After the diagnosis of lacrimal gland obstruction, massage treatment can be done under the guidance of the clinician, and if massage treatment is not effective, surgery should be considered. Infant tears generally have the following two conditions: (1) baby emotional, crying or into the eye foreign body caused by excessive tear secretion and thus tears, this kind of tears are mostly physiological, transient. (2) Inflammatory eye infection or excessive eye rubbing, common lacrimal sac, conjunctivitis, keratitis, eye trauma. Most of the tears caused by this kind are persistent and are often accompanied by other manifestations such as eye redness and photophobia.
